Gordon Was Involved in a Fatal Car Crash in Portland

The Former UNM Forward is Survived by His Wife Angela

Former NBA forward Drew Gordon, who played for the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2014-15 season, has died in a car accident in Portland at the age of 33. Gordon, the older brother of Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon, spent the majority of his career playing overseas except for his brief stint with the 76ers.

Details of the accident are still emerging, but it is believed that Gordon was the only person involved in the crash. He is survived by his wife, Angela.

Gordon, who was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, played college basketball for the University of New Mexico before being drafted by the Utah Jazz with the 45th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. He spent his first two seasons with the Jazz's D-League affiliate, the Bakersfield Jam, before being called up to the NBA in 2014.

In addition to his time with the 76ers, Gordon also played for the Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets during his NBA career. He averaged 2.8 points and 2.6 rebounds per game in his NBA career.

Gordon's death is a tragic loss for the basketball community. He was a talented player who had a bright future ahead of him. He will be missed by his family, friends, and fans.
