Kevin Dabrowski: Hibs goalkeeper recalls penalty save from Arsenal's Pepe

The Polish shot-stopper played a key role in his side's pre-season win over the Premier League giants

Dabrowski saved a penalty from Nicolas Pepe and made a string of other fine saves as Hibs secured a famous victory

Kevin Dabrowski has revealed the "unreal" feeling of saving a penalty from Arsenal's Nicolas Pepe in a pre-season friendly.

The Hibs goalkeeper played a starring role in his side's 2-1 win over the Premier League giants at Easter Road on Tuesday night.

Dabrowski saved Pepe's first-half spot-kick and made a string of other fine saves to deny the likes of Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah.

Speaking after the game, Dabrowski said: "It was an amazing feeling. I just tried to stay focused and do my job.

"I'm just happy that I could help the team win.

"It was a great experience to play against Arsenal. They're a top team with some world-class players.

"It was a good test for us and we showed that we can compete with the best.

Dabrowski's performance has earned him rave reviews from fans and pundits alike.

Former Hibs goalkeeper Andy Goram said: "Dabrowski was outstanding.

"He made some great saves and he commanded his area well.

"He's a young goalkeeper with a lot of potential.

"I'm sure he'll go on to have a successful career."

Dabrowski's performance has also put him in contention for a starting spot in the Hibs team for the upcoming season.

Manager Lee Johnson is likely to have a tough decision to make between Dabrowski and fellow goalkeeper Matt Macey.

But Dabrowski's performance against Arsenal has certainly given him a strong case to be the number one.
